Intuition Enhancement

Your intuition is not only crucial for the lives of others, it’s also an indispensable source of  guidance in your daily life.

Discover how to master your intuitive gifts and energetic boundaries, you’re likely to absorb other people’s energy, resulting in feelings of fragmentation or un-groundednes Maybe you tend to “merge” others energy with your own, or have difficulty interpreting your inner knowing  because it’s twisted up with other people’s energy and un-ascended information.

Discover how to master your intuitive gifts and energetic boundaries, you’re likely to absorb other people’s energy, resulting in feelings of fragmentation or un-groundednes

Join us! We will show you how to tune into your body’s power of intuition; clairsentience, clairaudience, claircognizance, and clairvoyance, so you may navigate through your experiences in life with insight, awe, and unity... the way we are designed...

Dog Park Update

We know with the beautiful weather we are having, dog park members are curious about the re-opening.

Several projects needing time to mature  before they can withstand dog activity is what's delaying the opening.  It is especially important to let the new grass mature and get  established before heavy traffic returns. For that reason, we are being  very conservative as to when the grass will be sufficient to withstand  daily use. Our target date, at this time, is July 13. Although grading  and seeding have been completed, work remains around water sources where  we are replacing the muddy areas with concrete pads that will make for a  much cleaner watering stop for both pets and owners. We are also in the  process of replacing the entrance hardware and signage and will be  installing a new access system for dog park members. When this is in  place, we will contact all members about access codes. Thank you for  your patience as we complete these tasks. It will be well worth it!

Upcoming Rummage Sale

WHS will again be hosting a  rummage sale this summer. The event is scheduled for the week of August  5, with the actual sale occurring Friday & Saturday, the 9th &  10th at the Boone Armory. A special preview sale is available on  Thursday, August 8, from 5 - 7 PM.  $10.00 will get you into the preview  sale on Thursday where we will also serve wine & cheese. There will  be no admission charge for Friday and Saturday.

We will be accepting donations starting  August 5, at the Boone Armory. If you need pick up of items, please call  828-265-4558 and provide information about items as well as the  location and time most convenient for pick up.

We need VOLUNTEERS who can assist in  sorting, pricing and displaying. A schedule for sign up will be  available before the sale and sent out. Please contact Charlie Duke for  more info on volunteering at Charlie Email

Memorial Tiles Now Available

If you have ever visited WHS, you are aware of the many tiles  featuring pictures of beloved pets. These tiles always create  interest  among visitors and many of our young visitors are eager to see and  touch the tiles as if to actually pet the animal featured there. We are  pleased to announce that it is now possible to order a picture tile to  honor your own pet(s). This is a unique and permanent way to memorialize  one's pet(s). Please email Alyssa at Alyssa email for more information or call the shelter at 828-264-7865.

Cat Condo Update

The new cat condos are on order!  Thanks to the generosity of so many, we were able to raise the necessary  funds for this project. We anticipate the condos will arrive some time  in July, followed by installation. There will be some disruption in the  lobby as construction occurs. We will, of course, need to find space for  the cats and kittens that otherwise would be in the condos. If you are  interested in fostering a cat or kittens during installation, please  contact Ashlee Yepez, Director of Shelter Operation and Welfare.

Camp Canines and Cats

We are delighted to report that both  of the Camp Canines and Cats session have full enrollment and waiting  lists. The first session will be held from June 17-20, followed by the  second which will occur July 22-25. Activities related to animals and  animal care are featured by having participants interacting with shelter  animals. Camps are run by WHS volunteers.

Reading for Paws

Our  Reading for Paws program is available again this summer for children in  grades 2-8.  It begins on June 18, and runs Tuesday through Thursday  until August 8. The program begins at 11:30 am and runs until 12:30 pm.  Sign up is online at the WHS website for reading times which consist of  30 minute slots with the shelter's cats/kittens.  Children must be  accompanied by an adult who remains with them during the full reading  time. Those who participate 5 times will qualify for a Reading for Paws  T-shirt and will attend a celebration at the program's end. The  participant who reads the most books receives not only a T-shirt, but  another special prize as well. Children may bring their own books or may  select from those available on site.

Animal Communication & Wellness with certification

We invite you to come learn about how to communicate with your pets and animals to provide them with the wellness their spirit needs for a harmonious life.

Animals are purely intuitive and instinctive. They provide special messages of support and healing for not only their human companions, but also other pets in the family.

In this workshop you will learn how to...

  • connect and access their insight.
  • communicate with animals and admire their depth of understanding have about themselves and you!
  • become more attuned to balancing your pets health, aging, and behavioral issues.
  • learn how your energy, mood, and day-to-day routine affects your pets.
  • Understand the telepathic link you already have with the animal kingdom and howto increase and interpret it.
  • know the deepest desires and environmental needs of your horses, dogs, cats, birds, etc.
  • use breath to open energetic channels between you and your pet.

If you have pets, please feel free bring them to practice communication skills. If not, my boys will be present to work with.

This is a three part class with certification as a Native Notions Animal Wellness Communicator.
